The Estate

Enrico Serafino, founded in 1878 in Canale d’Alba, is one of Piedmont’s historic wineries and among the first to produce méthode traditionnelle sparkling wines in its 19th-century underground cellars. As early as the beginning of the 20th century, its cuvées gained international recognition, supported by distinctive Art Deco branding and a strong presence in cities such as New York, London, and Paris.

Today, the winery remains deeply rooted in its original philosophy, preserving a meticulous and almost ritual approach to craftsmanship, where precision and consistency are essential to quality.

The vineyards are located in Alta Langa, an area characterized by rugged hills and marl and calcareous-clay soils, ideal for sparkling wine production. Here, the winery focuses on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the key varieties for its cuvées. The historic cellars, dating back to the 19th century, maintain a constant temperature and provide optimal conditions for aging. With the experience of over 145 harvests, Enrico Serafino follows strict production principles, including the decision to avoid the use of spirits in the liqueur d’expédition

The result is an Alta Langa style defined by longevity, complexity, and precision, where each bottle reflects a balance between tradition and technical mastery.

The Wine

Grape Varieties
Nebbiolo, Barbera, Arneis, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay

Enrico Serafino works with both traditional Piedmontese grape varieties, such as Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Arneis, and international varieties like Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which are essential for its Alta Langa sparkling wines.

The Alta Langa DOCG is based exclusively on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, cultivated in high-altitude vineyards with calcareous soils, contributing to the wines’ freshness, minerality, and precision.

Through long aging on lees and a strict production approach, the winery produces wines defined by complexity, structure, and longevity.
